Center for New Americans programs include:

  • English as a second language (ESOL) classes
  • Technology classes
  • Job counseling and placement
  • Family Literacy
  • Citizenship application coaching
  • Wrap-around support services, including referrals to childcare, housing, and health care services
  • Opportunity for leadership and advocacy

All Center for New Americans programs are FREE.



History of CNA
  • Center for New Americans was founded in 1992 and served 15 students
  • Now, 19 years later, CNA serves 450 students a year
  • CNA has three main program sites: Amherst, Northampton, and Greenfield. CNA tutors and conversations groups meet in additional cities and towns
  • CNA students come from over 50 different countries and together speak more than 35 different languages
