Center for New Americans Program Overview and History
Center for New Americans programs include:
- English as a second language (ESOL) classes
- Technology classes
- Job counseling and placement
- Family Literacy
- Citizenship application coaching
- Wrap-around support services, including referrals to childcare, housing, and health care services
- Opportunity for leadership and advocacy
- Alumni Association!
All Center for New Americans programs are FREE.
History of CNA
- Center for New Americans was founded in 1992 and served 15 students
- Now, 19 years later, CNA serves 450 students a year
- CNA has three main program sites: Amherst, Northampton, and Greenfield. CNA tutors and conversations groups meet in additional cities and towns
- CNA students come from over 50 different countries and together speak more than 35 different languages
